100th Anniversary of Tonneau Shape

Bangkok, 6 September 2012 – Vacheron Constantin together with Pendulum held a heritage watch exhibition at Siam Paragon Shopping Complex, to celebrate the 100th anniversary of its creation of tonneau-shaped watches. Vacheron Constantin, the world's oldest watch manufacturer, established over 250 years ago, has been continuously dedicating its intelligence and passion to creating shaped watches. A collection of heritage tonneau-shaped timepieces were especially flown in from Geneva for this exhibition.

Showing for the first time in Asia, this exhibition took you back to the golden century of watchmaking, with 12 heritage tonneau-shaped watches on display, all are considered the ultimate classic masterpieces, with each style reflecting the evolution of watch history over the past century.

Modern with a hint of heritage, the exhibition space was designed with muted black scheme exuding a completely modern outlook, complimented by the sleek minimalistic bronze touches, leaving the real highlight of the night to the century-old heritage watches on display. The unique exhibition approach was achieved by juxtaposing one of a kind vintage watch collection in the modern display.

Famous watch connoisseur Mr. Chamnong Bhirom Bhakdi graced the exhibition, in addition to Thailand's favourite movie stars Ploy Laila Boonyasak, Janie Thienphosuvan and Taksaorn Taechanarong. Among the visitors in their appreciation of a century of Vacheron Constantin tonneau-shaped timepieces were also watch-loving connoisseurs in Bangkok.
